  2. Performance Work Practices and Firm Performance" (dated July 1993).
  3. It evaluates the effectiveness of work practices and the effect of the
  4. same on overall company performance and profitability.  Designed to be
  5. background material for the "Conference on the Future of the American
  6. Workplace."  The study focusses on the researched link between
  7. increased productivity and three specific high performance work
  8. practices--employee involvement in decision-making, compensation
